香港高樓大廈林立，生活節奏急速，作為都市人的我們，平日只在商場與街道間穿梭，很少機會接觸大自然。北區有不少郊外地方，自然是郊遊的好去處。 故此，我們希望透過這次的旅程，抽空到郊外親親大自然，體驗郊遊及遠足的樂趣，親身了解北區的一草一木。 在三天的行程編排中，我們加入了歷史、文化、生態等元素，希望在走訪北區的同時，可以發掘到香港這城市不為人知的一面，如歷史遺留的痕跡，以及香港獨有的地質面貌。 旅行的意義不在於數量之多，而在於投入之多。 我們著重的不只是遊覽景點，更重視其背後的價值及意義。 旅行的廣與深，在於讓心與眼一起行走。 「行路」的意義，更多的不是路，而在於行。 這不單是遊歷，更是一種生活的態度。 這裡處處也是故事，尚待我們用心感受。 就讓我們遊走每一個角落，解讀每一個故事。 We are living in a hectic lifestyle and most of the time, we stay indoors. We seldom have the chance to embrace the nature. Set in lush countryside, North district is a perfect region for us to experience rural life. Through this trip, we want to experience the fun of hiking and understand more about the area. In these 2 days, we incorporated elements of history, culture and ecology in the itinerary. By doing so, we can explore more about history and unique geological features of Hong Kong. We are not going to emphasize on the number of places we visited, instead we want to look at the unique characteristics and significances of each place. 近日，有網民在討論區提議，為香港18區設計吉祥物，而北區的設計，並非為大自然或者手工等等為主題，竟然是一隻揹着貨物、插上五星旗的「蝗蟲」。 北區是新城市，有經濟發展的同時，亦山明水秀，使香港人郊遊的好去處。但近年，香港人好像把北區的美忘記，並把水貨客和北區畫上等號。我們希望透過是次的北區之旅，不但發堀北區新的旅遊景點，同時亦希望把一些被港人所遺忘的景點再次展現在香港人眼前。 On a forum, netizens proposed to design mascots for the 18 districts of Hong Kong. 我們希望透過是次活動，探索北區鮮為人知的自然風光，並以社交網站作為推廣，介紹給身邊好友，讓他們認識北區的湖光山色。 另外，我們也會使用單車漫遊細覽一些名勝古蹟，此舉一來鼓勵低碳旅遊。旅程途中，我們會訪問當地的居民，以口述歷史的形式紀錄北區的歷史和故事，探討北區的風土人情。 晚上我們選擇在自然脈絡總幹事野人的農場留宿，並藉此機會與他進行夜話，彼此分享大家對環保的看法及商討如何能長遠提升市民對環保的關注。野人多年來以生命影響生命，以令人意想不到的環保生活提醒大眾珍惜資源，我們深感其毅力可嘉，相信夜話也可以給我們一點啟發。 Through the activity, we hoped to explore the natural scenery in the North District that is unfamiliar to most people and to promote it on social media to familiarize our friends with the lakes and mountains in the North District. We visited scenic spots and historical sites in detail by bike to encourage low-carbon traveling. During our trip, we met with local residents and noted down the history and their stories through dictation. At nights, we chose to stay on the farm of Natural Network’s Secretary-General Ye Ren. We took the opportunity to talk to him during our stay, share our perspectives on environmental protection, and discuss how to arouse citizens’ continuing concern about environmental protection. In the past years, he influenced others and called on the public to take care of our resources in previously unimaginable ways. 作為土生土長的香港人，對於北區的認識，我們只能認作寒腹短識。在香港生活二十載，到過北區的次數更是寥寥可數。 好奇之制，跟好友同學們作了小測試，「北區包括了哪些地方？」，「大埔」、「元朗」，甚至「香港」...原來我們自稱愛香港，對香港的認識僅只於此。 這趟北區之旅，我們希望透過親身走在上水和粉嶺的街頭上，尋找各式各樣的古物古蹟，感受歷史遺留下來的故事。除此之外，我們知道北區除了保留了不少傳統新界的鄉郊特色，還有迷人的自然景觀。因此，我們決定走進大自然，感受北區破曉的美，為我們的北區之旅錦上添花，希望能夠以親身的霎時感動，向朋友分享北區的壯麗，帶動大家一起探索香港這片小土地的每一分獨特美。 As Hong Kongers, we grew up in the city. Our knowledge about the North District is limited. We have visited this district only a few times in the past two decades. We claim that we love Hong Kong yet we only have partial knowledge about it. Therefore, we intended to walk around Sheung Shui and Fanling during this trip to search for various antiquities and monuments and to learn local history. We discovered not only suburban features but also the natural beauty preserved in the district. Walking in nature and eyeing the beauty of dawn were a bonus in our trip. 那年十一、二月份的時間，好像兩三年前，曾經劃著獨木舟，教練指著遠處一片石灘，告訴我們那就是荔枝窩。 北區，香港人可能只會聯想到在上水一群搶奶粉的水貨客，而多少人會想起那片被遺忘三十多年，充斥過去、本土特色、人情味的土地。 荔枝窩，由於交通不方便，一直與世隔絕，換來是一個從不受外來污染、難得清靜、遠離城市煩嚚的地方。 這片清土，經過歷史洗禮，包含濃郁的本土文化，值得一提必定是荔枝窩復耕後的風貌。透過與村民對話，感受香港應有的昔日風土人情。 走過這個旅程，望香港人反思，香港，不應該是她表面上冷漠、功利的商業都市，每次到國外歎息香港沒有此景時，其實我們擁有的比人更多。寄語香港人，本土文化必定先得本地人去支持才能把我們自強不息的精神發揚光大。 Two or three years ago around November or December, we were rowing a canoe when our coach suddenly pointed toward a shingle beach and told us, “That is Lai Chi Wo!” The North District reminds us that people from Hong Kong were nothing more than parallel traders who scrambled for infant formula in Sheung Shui. Lai Chi Wo has been forgotten for 30 years despite its rich history, unique local characteristics, and its people. The limited transportation may keep Lai Chi Wo isolated from the outside world, but it protects this place from the pollution, unrest, and bustle of the city. This peaceful land has accumulated strong local characteristics throughout its history. Specifically, Lai Chi Wo boasts of a breathtaking landscape and a noteworthy lifestyle after its rehabilitation. You can experience the old Hong Kong by talking with the villagers. After this journey, we hope that Hong Kong residents will cease to see their country as a cold, utilitarian commercial city on the surface. Hong Kong possesses many of the characteristics that we are longing for and have seen in foreign countries.
