Youth Matters
Here for you
HKFYG‧Here for You
Perhaps at no other time has the Federation's motto, "Here for you" been so appropriate and accurate. During these past few weeks, when the voices and presence of Hong Kong young people have been heard and seen around the world, we have been there to provide services and support to those in need. The protest actions, which have included street sit-ins, confrontations with those opposed as well as experiencing the sting of pepper spray and tear gas, have resulted in tensions in both homes and schools.

With differing views from their children, parents have called our mediation centre to express their fears and anxieties. Students too have used our services, calling our hotline for help in trying to get their parents' understanding and support. School-based social workers too have been asked to provide counselling in situations where teachers and students have left classrooms to take to the streets, or advocate for protesters on campuses. Our young leaders have also turned to Leadership 21, who offer space for discussion and sharing, enabling serious reflection.

These are challenging times for Hong Kong. These are especially challenging time for all of Hong Kong's youth. But the Federation is here. Here for them. Here for you.
