What could be better than time out in the fresh air, with a vista over the sea, glimpses of seabirds, luxuriant mangroves and all the coastal variety that Hong Kong has to offer. That's what awaits visitors to the newly expanded and refurbished HKFYG Jockey Club Sai Kung Outdoor Training Camp in Tai Mong Tsai.

Occupying 14,400 square meters of land on the edge of the Sai Kung Country Park, the camp accommodates up to 460 overnight and 250 for daytime or twilight activities. Between mountains and shoreline, its tranquil setting invites you to take your time and relax with a coffee in the stylish café, swim in the outdoor pool, or taste the adventure of kayaking, rafting, climbing, and orienteering. Whether you prefer self-contained or dormitory-style accommodation, the camp now has something for everyone, courtesy of Phase III redevelopment funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.

HSBC Youth Business Award 2014
Entries are now sought for the HSBC Youth Business Award 2014. All local young entrepreneurs who have been in business for up to 5 years are welcome to apply. Organized by HKFYG with sole sponsorship from
HSBC Commercial Banking, the aim is to recognize outstanding business performance in young people who have made a significant contribution to Hong Kong's economy. Jade Art: shop opening on Friday 9 May at PMQ, S511, Block A35 Aberdeen Street, Central, Hong Kong
Jade Art is a unique jewellery shop at PMQ. A social enterprise set up by HKFYG, the shop is also a venue for classes, providing Hong Kong young people with opportunities to learn through hands-on experience the art of making jewellery from antiques. Inspired by rich traditions, each item of unique modern jewellery on sale in the shop is made from a rare, valuable artefact, highlighting delicate craftsmanship, ingenuity and creativity of design. Exquisite Chinese ceramics, jade and jadeite, jewellery and fine wine are coming up for charity auction, courtesy of Lisa's Collection. The preview is on Saturday 14 June, 10am-8pm and the auction is the next day, Sunday 15 June, 10am onwards on the 5/F, HKFYG Building, 21 Pak Fuk Road, North Point. YEN Youth Career Expo in Yau Tong offers over 6,000 vacancies
for full-time, part-time and summer job vacancies

HKFYG's Youth Employment Network (YEN) is organizing a Youth Career Expo at the Domain shopping mall in Yau Tong on 12 May. Information on employment and training, including over 6,000 full-time, part-time or summer job vacancies, will be available. The Employment Retraining Board Manpower Development Scheme and on-the-spot advice on career planning and work experience enrichment, will also be on offer. Admission free. Course on Chinese art and artefects hosted by HKFYG
Chinese Artefact Connoisseurship is the topic for a course coming up on Saturdays, 11am-1.30pm, from 17-31 May, in the HKFYG Building. Students will learn about Chinese antiques and how auctions are run. They will also have the opportunity to help organize the HKFYG Charity Auction on 14-15 June (see above), under professional guidance. Suitable for anyone aged 16 or over. Organic Farming with Kids! Goldman Sachs' Community TeamWorks corporate volunteers join underprivileged children
On 25 May as part of the Goldman Sachs Community TeamWorks volunteer initiative, children from deprived backgrounds will have a chance to work with corporate volunteers. Hope for Success with Youth Employment Network and Prudential Hong Kong Ltd sponsored by Prudence Foundation
Hope for Success, co-organized by HKFYG's Youth Employment Network and Prudential Hong Kong Ltd with sponsorship from the Prudence Foundation, encourages students in Secondary 3-6 to plan their future careers. Hang Seng Bank - Leaders to Leaders Lecture Series 2014 launched
Fascinating lectures are coming up in this ongoing series, partnered by the Hang Seng Bank. The first two are on 12 and 22 May, 6-8:30pm, in the Wang Gungwu Theatre at The University of Hong Kong. On 12 May Dr Law Chi-kwong, SBS, JP, member of the Commission on Poverty and Community Care Fund Task Force chairperson, will speak on Disparity between the Rich and the Poor in Cantonese. On 22 May, The Hon Mr Justice Bokhary, GBM, Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal, will speak on Society and the Rule of Law in English. Open to members of the public of all ages. All year round, there are a cappella events with HKFYG. Stay connected with app-cappella, a mobile app written for iOS and Android. In the app, you can find out about the a cappella education programme funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, and ideal rehearsal tools including a digital pitchpipe and metronome. In the education programme, there is school training and elite training, singing contests, opportunities to perform, and subvented equipment rental. M21 exchange programme in Taichung co-organized with Travel QnA and sponsored by Chan-Yee Hotel Day+Group, Hong Kong Express, Nikon and Youth.gov.hk
This programme includes work experience as hostel trainees and local brand-building activities for exhibitions. It is being co-organized with Travel QnA for the second time this year. Applicants made self-presentations in front of the camera for public voting in April. Winners go on a sponsored trip to Taichung and Jiayi, Taiwan, from late May till mid-June. Accommodation, meals and programmes are sponsored by the Chan-Yee Hotel Day+Group and air tickets are being provided by Hong Kong Express.
