| M21 Short Videos Say No to Violence against Women |

One of the aims of the HKFYG Jockey Club Media 21 (M21) is to encourage young people to explore social issues and raise awareness of concerns via creative media. Against this background, M21 is now calling for proposals for short films which advocate the prevention of violence against women. The deadline is 15 April and the best eight will receive a grant of HK$10,000 each from Zonta Club of Hong Kong East, the sponsor and HKFYG's collaborator in this project.
Educators and social workers may find these films useful because up to a third of all women around the world experience violence, at home, at work or at school or in public. Film-makers can choose any of these contexts for their productions. Screenings will take place on 11 October 2014. After that, the films will be broadcast on m21.hk, M21's School Net and Community Net.

Double success for HKFYG contest winners at the National English Public Speaking Contest in Beijing
Winners from this year's HKFYG Standard Chartered Hong Kong English Public Speaking Contest have triumphed at the recent National English Public Speaking Contest in Beijing. 2 senior representatives, Yeung Chui-yan and Bianca Chan, were Champion and 1st runner up in the senior high division and the 2 junior representatives,Tse Yan-tung and Juliet Leung won the 1st runner up prize and the second prize in the junior division. Youth Crime Prevention Centre partners Hong Kong Police in Project iSmart's fight against internet crime
Project iSmart is the first ever youth technology crime prevention programme organized by the Hong Kong Police with an NGO. The aim is to stop youngsters falling prey to criminals by warning them about the dangers of entrapment in vice through friends made online. The programme is educational and proactive. Short films about real cases produced by the Regional Crime Prevention Office New Territories South are uploaded to http://ycpc.hkfyg.org.hk/youthlaw/.These raise awareness of cyber crime and "naked chat" extortion. 2014 HKFYG a cappella Musical Dinner at the Hong Kong Country Club presents singers from the US, UK, Hong Kong and Japan
This year's star performers at HKFYG's a cappella Musical Dinner in the Hong Kong Country Club on Tuesday 1 April will be Musae from the US, The Sons of Pitches from UK, JARNZΩ from Japan and the HKFYG Hong Kong Melody Makers. Delights to Share with Dah Sing Life Assurance Co Ltd, Mag Lam and Cocoa Pin
HKFYG Jockey Club Shau Kei Wan Youth SPOT and Dah Sing Life Assurance Co Ltd will hold a Chocolate Egg Workshop in partnership with Cocoa Pin on 4 April, Children's Day. The workshop is called Delights to Share, and singer, Ms Mag Lam, will join children and teenagers who will learn how to make chocolate Easter eggs and find out about the origin and nutritional value of chocolate. To support local creative businesses, Dah Sing Life has partnered Cocoa Pin especially for this occasion. It is a chocolate patisserie company supported by Youth Business Hong Kong (YBHK). SHKP SDU pre-employment trainee programme open for applications
This new collaboration with Sun Hung Kai Properties Ltd offers 50 trainee posts to sub-degree holders who are seeking pre-employment training. These will be the first who have the Diploma of Secondary Education. The posts are for 12 months, from July 2014 to June 2015, and are open to all suitably qualified associate degree or higher diploma graduates. CLP Group plus ChinaChem Group support Youth SPOT project in Tin Shui Wai
HKFYG's Jockey Club Tin Yuet Youth SPOT has launched a Youth Community Service Project which runs until January 2015. It provides art training and community service opportunities for the benefit of underprivileged youth. The project is sponsored by CLP Group and ChinaChem Group and corporate volunteers from ChinaChem will do community work alongside the youngsters. Barclays courses for young entrepreneurs organized with YBHK
With funding from Barclays Bank PLC, HKFYG's youth entrepreneur support programme, Youth Business Hong Kong (YBHK) organized 7th Young Entrepreneurial Course this month. Professionals introduced hard and soft skills needed for running a company to over 330 young people aged 18-35. The course was at the HKFYG Continuous Learning Centre and the young people learned about marketing, accounting and some of the legal matters relevant to the business world. Two English books about Scratch programming, created by HKFYG's LEAD (Learning through Engineering, Art & Design) have been very popular in US, where they have reached the Amazon Best Sellers Rank #1 in programming related categories. They are published by the No Starch Press and are loved by kids, parents and teachers alike. Nearly 28,000 copies were sold by the end of 2013. Qianhai: HKFYG incubating ideas and accelerating entrepreneurship on the mainland
Fostering innovative start-ups is the theme of the March 2014 issue. A review of entrepreneur incubation plus interviews with officials and young entrepreneurs are the focus. A major tripartite agreement between HKFYG with The Qianhai Authority and the Shenzhen Youth Federation to support youth entrepreneurship and the Qianhai Youth Entrepreneur Hub, (E Hub) to be built on a site of about 26,000 square metres in the special economic zone in the Pearl River Delta are described. The new E Hub will have an academy for entrepreneurial training and education, an incubation centre with one-stop services, an exhibition hall, and on-campus accommodation. Mailing this week.
